That's right.... both Ruth Brittin and Bo Wah Leung will be coming to the end of their 6-year terms as Co-editors of the International Journal of Music Education, and so new Co-editors are needed. See below for the call for applications.
Additionally, every two years several Editorial Committee members come to the end of their 6-year terms, so we are also looking for applications for reviewers/members of the Editorial Committee.
IJME is an empirical research journal and these are important positions within ISME. The Editorial Committee completes blind reviews of research manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal and serves in an advisory capacity to the Co-editors. See the call for applicants below.
It is important to note that these are 6-year terms and that a commitment to ISME is needed, both in terms of previous activity and future participation. Decisions are made by ISME leadership during July, and a transition between co-editors and the board occurs from August through December. Those interested in serving should be prepared to continue through until December 2024. We need scholars from a variety of research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, historical, and philosophical approaches.
Please alert any colleagues you feel might be particularly interested and qualified, and we look forward to seeing wonderful Co-editors join Chee Hoo Lum, who remains in position, and new committee members move us forward with the next generation of IJME reviewers!
Deadline for applications is 30 June 2018, but please don't leave it to the last minute. Any questions should be directed by email to the Secretary-General.
