Alexander Mitev is born in Sofia. He completed secondary education at the "Lyubomir Pipkov" National School of Music and higher education at the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National Academy of Music with the majors "Choir Conducting" and "Pedagogy of Music Education". Graduated with honors from the New Bulgarian University with a major in "Opera Singing".
While still a student, he won Second Prize at the IX Competition "Music and Knowledge", Module 1 - Theory of Musical Elements, organized by the New Bulgarian University. From an early age he studied piano with Svetla Beshovishka and Polina Angelova, and as a student he was accepted into the piano class of Prof. Dr. Desislava Shtereva. In 1997, he joined the "Bodra Smyana" Choir, and in 2006, he joined the Sofia Boys' Choir.
As an opera artist, Alexander Mitev is the winner of national and international awards, including the Crystal Lyre of the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Performers and "Classic FM" radio, Honorable Bulgarian of BNT and "24. Chasa". He won an international award for professionalism at the Seventh International Delphi Games in Kazakhstan, presented to him by Prof. Pyotr Sergeevich Glubokii, Russia. Alexander Mitev participated in opera singing master classes in Italy, Germany, Romania and Russia. Concerted with the orchestras "Symfonieta - Vatsa", New Symphony Orchestra, "Symfonieta - Sofia", "Symfonieta - Vidin", "Symfonieta - Shumen", orchestra "Classica" and others.
In the period 2012-2014, he worked as a music director in the newly opened Vocal Formation "Sladak Glas" at the "Consciousness - 1922" Community Center, Pernik, and since 2017 he has been the conductor of The Concert Children's Choir of 32 School "St. Kliment Ohridski"- Bulgaria. With it, he won two first prizes and a third in International Competition "Christmas Confession" in 2020. In 2019, the choir participated in the National Festival of Christmas and New Year's songs, Haskovo. The ensemble performs several joint concerts with the "Sinfonieta-Sofia" orchestra, as well as several solo concerts at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy, National Polytechnic Museum, etc.
Alexander Mitev is a member of the International Society for Music Education I.S.M.E. and the Union of Bulgarian Teachers. Participates as a lecturer in national and international scientific forums. He is the author of articles on Bulgarian music education and upbringing and other scientific studies. In 2021, he was a judge in the International Competition "Christmas Confession", and in 2022 he was a judge in the VIII. Sofia Grand Prix International Competition 2022.
In 2022, his student at 32.School "St. Kliment Ohridski" represented the School and won a prize at the Art and Music Competition organized by the Association of Cambridge Schools in Bulgaria. In the academic year 2021-2022, his students won 13 prizes from the International Competition "Dessine-moi un orgue" in the city of Montreal, Canada.
