"Music is sound, and hence audible. The voice is also a reference for opinion, position, perception. Through this, ISME provides its members, no matter their station, an opportunity to be heard, because every experience is valid and has something to contribute to ISME’s global agenda of enhancing human lives through quality music education.”
Emily Achieng’ Akuno, President of ISME
The ISME Online Café is a virtual space for music education practitioners and students across the globe to share their interests, discuss their ideas, reflect on their experiences and narratives, and learn from one another in an atmosphere of safety, trust and mutual support. This is a space where every voice matters, where new collaborations and friendships are encouraged and old ones are nourished and celebrated.
These Zoom meetings, held once every alternate month and hosted by a member/s of one of the ISME Committees, Commissions or Special Interest Groups, will feature a short, thought provoking and meaningful presentation by Special Guests: inspiring personalities from different countries, diverse fields and approaches both within and outside the music education landscape, followed by informal discussions in breakout rooms where attendees will have a chance to get to know each other, exchange thoughts and ideas, brainstorm and most importantly have a friendly chat!
Each session will last for a total of 120 minutes, offering attendees the flexibility to join and leave at their convenience, or to remaining for the entire duration of the meeting.
Join at the ISME Online Café with your cuppa coffee and a smile! We look forward to meeting you!
More news about the first ISME Online Café will be announced soon.
