I am a full time secondary school music teacher and part time PhD student. I have a BA Hons in Music (and English), PGCE (secondary), Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Development (leadership and management) and an MA in Education. I specialised in violin, piano and voice at university and currently sing with the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

Having taught music in several secondary schools in England and Wales, I continue to be fascinated with the complexities of measuring and assessing creativity, so much so, that I have made it a focus of my research. The changes brought about by the introduction of a new curriculum in Wales have made this challenge ever greater.
