Graduated in music - Bachelor of Clarinet by the State University of Campinas, Brazil (1986), Advanced Studies in Clarinet by Musikhochschule Trossingen (Germany) (1990), Master of Clarinet by the Rotterdam Conservatory (Netherlands) (1992), Advanced Studies in Bass Clarinet by the Rotterdam Conservatory (Netherlands) (1994) and PhD. in Music (Clarinet Performance) by the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil (2002). He did a Research Internship at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington (USA) in the academic year 2000/2001. He studied with Waldemar Wandel, Walter Boeykens, Henri Bok, James Campbell. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Music at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil. He has experience in the music field with an emphasis on clarinet, wind orchestra, chamber music and music education.
