Dr. Aleksi Ojala is a music lecturer at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He finished his doctoral studies in the department of Music Education Jazz and Folk Music at Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki in 2017. In his applied study Ojala developed theoretical standpoints and e-learning materials for a new pedagogical approach to general classroom music education, ‘Learning Through Producing’. His research interests include posthumanism, popular music pedagogies, musical creativities, collaborative learning, blended learning, mobile music technologies and AR/VR technologies. Ojala has held numerous workshops and presentations related to his research interests in Finland and abroad. He is also a musician, songwriter, and music producer who has released two solo albums through Universal Music Finland and written songs for various Finnish mainstream artists.
