We are excited to announce the PASMAE-ISME Regional Conference, that was jointly hosted by the Pan African Society for Musical Arts Education (PASMAE) and the International Society for Music Education (ISME).
This prestigious event took place from 1st to 4th July 2025 at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
PASMAE 2025 Conference Theme
The 14th PASMAE–ISME Regional Conference, held from July 1–4, 2025 at Makerere University in Uganda, brought together 68 delegates from 15 countries, with 70% representing international institutions. The conference featured impactful keynotes by Prof. Sheila Woodward (USA), Prof. Okaka Opio Dokotum (Uganda), and Prof. Geoff Mapaya (South Africa), highlighting themes of inclusion and innovation in African music education. Dr. James Isabirye (Uganda) was elected the new PASMAE President, with a strong regional leadership team.
