Graduated at the Education Studies and Music Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University, Carol majored in child and adolescent development after studying performance with Mark Vines, the principal horn of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO). She has studied horn performance with Homer Lee Siu-lam of the HKPO and Tony Cheng Chi-man, and piano playing with Phyllis Kao.

Being enthusiastic in music, Carol has studied with famous artists such as David Krebiel, Randy Gardner, Kerry Turner, Charles Putnam and Jeoffrey Winter. She has also actively participated in international events, including the European Music Tour to Austria, Germany & France (2002), the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute in Cincinnati of US (2001), International Horn Symposium in Beijing of China (2000) and Novacorda in Bristol of UK (1998). Carol, meanwhile, is the winner of the second prize in the open competition of Brass Concerto at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival (1998).

Besides playing as principal horn at the Baptist Symphony Orchestra, Carol regularly appears as guest artist in many other music events and organizations including the Symphonic Wind Band of the University of Science and Technology, The China Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Hong Kong Medical Association and the New Philharmonic Orchestra.

Carol is one of the founders of the Harmonious Horn Quartet, which was established in April 2000. Previously called Fantasia Horn Ensemble, it gave its debut performance at the BaptistUniversity. She was the hornist of the Brass Age Quintet, the Creative Brass Quintet, the Baptist Brass Quintet, the Baptist Woodwind Quintet and the Baptist Horn Ensemble.

Besides engaging in performances, Carol has directed numerous productions. She has produced the Musical, Love Story,for Valentine’s Event at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel (2004). She was also the music director for over 100 public performances for M Stream Arts Studio (Member of the M Stream Groups).

Carol is now a freelance musician and music educator. She actively promotes the development of music education. Invited for demonstration performances in campus, Carol also launches music workshops and students’ recitals such as “Snow White: A Music Story” (2009), “When the Children Meets Music” (2005), “Canadian Brass Workshop”(2002) and “Young Musicians’ Recital” (2000). She is one of the adjunct faculty members of the Hong Kong International Institute of Music.
