Laura Huhtinen-Hildén (Ph.D. MMus, music therapist) works at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as a principal lecturer, researcher and head of Early Childhood Music Education and Community Music as well as head of Master's degree programme Creativity and Arts in Social and Health Fields (CRASH) . Her research interests include learner-centered music education and the use arts and arts-based methods in new contexts in society. She is the leading author of a recent book ‘Taking a Learner-centred Approach to Music Education- Pedagogical Pathways’. Her current research is focusing on possibilities of creativity and creative activities in social and health care contexts and the professional skills and knowledge required.
