Born in 1974 in Hiroshima, the Composer, Improviser and sound artist Daisuke Terauchi received his Master's Degree from Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshima in 1999 studying under Koji Tomotani and Jo Kondo. When he lived in Amsterdam from 2004 to 2007, he also studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory, Rietveld Art Academy and the Amsterdam Conservatory. In 2016, He received Ph.D. by the research about "Cobra" by John Zorn.

He is presently teaching at the Graduate School of Education in the Faculty of Education of Hiroshima University as an associate professor. He creates works in various mediums including chamber music, live performance and improvisation with many artists from various fields such as a dance, painting, calligraphy, and computer music. Some of his scores and CDs have been published. His music has been performed at many concerts and music festivals etc. in 13 countries.
