Ashok GP, was born in Bangalore, India, holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the Bangalore Conservatory and a grade 8 (Level 3) in Drums from the Trinity Guildhall London. He has 20 years of drumming experience, 13 years of experience as a Classical guitarist and 8 years of experience as a Choir Conductor.

He has performed with several bands and choirs over the years with a footing in genres such as Classical, Rock, Pop, Jazz & Gospel.

He has taught in renowned schools where he has served in many roles including guitar instructor, Classroom Teacher, Choir Conductor and as the Head of the Music Department.

He currently serves as the Music Director at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore and his areas of expertise include Music Theory, Music History, Vocal Coaching, Drums & Guitar Tutelage, Composition, Arranging & Live Sound Mixing.
He also trains students for music exams across renowned music boards.
He has published a paper on Teaching Musical Improvisation and is working on future publications.

He strongly believes in formal music education and is an advocate of the same.
