TRAVEL

AIRPORTS
Bologna has an international airport with direct flights from most major cities. Check with your travel agent on the website for the best connections and prices. Bologna only has one airport. The code for this airport is BLQ.

Other airports serviced by budget airlines are in nearby towns, and therefore the transfers from the airport to the hotel will take much longer and cost more than from the airport IN Bologna. If you are travelling with a budget airline and want to avoid expensive taxi fares, then check if they have a shuttle bus for transfer to Bologna.

TRANSFER FROM BOLOGNA AIRPORT BLQ TO HOTEL
Taxi
Bologna is a small city and the airport is quite near. The best way to transfer from the airport to the hotel is by taxi. It should cost you around 20-22 euros and take 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic and luggage. Hotel Fiera is outside the walls of the old city, near the Convention Centre (not being used by ISME).
Shuttle bus
There is a shuttle bus from the airport. It costs around 5 euros, leaves each 15 minutes and takes about 20-30 minutes. The stop is outside the airport (right hand).

ARRIVING BY TRAIN
It is a short taxi ride to the hotel, about 10 minutes and it could cost about 10 euros. It is possible to take a bus, and tickets costs around one euro. Often there is a machine for tickets in the bus.

ARRIVING BY CAR
If you are arriving by car, please contact the hotel regarding parking.
The main city area (old town) is surrounded by a wall, and many streets  in the city centre are closed to private cars from 7 am to 8pm every day, including Sundays - only buses and limited vehicles such as taxi's are permitted.
If you have any difficulties on arrival you can contact the hotel (ask for Anna), or Kim McCord on her mobile: 309-310-5538
