Check with your airline before leaving home what will be allowed in the cabin. You will find that airport regulations do vary from one place to another, so expect differences in rules.

How do I get around Beijing?

Beijing is the Capital of China and the city itself has good transport facilities. The Metro is convenient to use within the city and is currently being expanded. The road system is excellent and traffic runs relatively smoothly except during peak traffic hours in the morning and evening. Taxis are affordable. Many parts of Beijing can be explored on foot.

What are the Conference venues like?

The Conference will be held at China National Convention Center (CNCC), China's largest and newest international conference center with primary location and completed facilities. It's China's most versatile venue ideal for congresses, meetings, exhibitions and various events. Sitting in the heart of Olympic Green, CNCC is right next to the Bird Nest (China National Stadium) and the Water Cube (National Aquatics Center) and enjoys unparalleled easy access.

For more details about venues see: http://www.cnccchina.com

Where can I stay?

There will be no problem finding accommodation as there is no shortage of hotels and hostels. Whether you're looking to stay in a star-rated luxury hotel, or whether you're looking for something within a smaller budget, there is something to suit everyone.

For more information, please visit the dedicated 'Accommodation' page.

What about food during the Conference?

China cuisine is renowned all over the world for its appearance, aroma, and flavor. It's unique style of preparation, cooking, and presentation can be traced to the beginning of Chinese history more than 5,000 years ago. As the capital of China, Beijing in particular has plenty to offer, so do try some of the many delightful eating houses in the city.

What do I do when I arrive?

On arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport you can take a taxi to the Conference area for around 100 RMB/Yuan. You could alternatively take the subway from the airport and get off at the subway stop called 'Olympic Green'. This stop brings you near to the CNCC but is a 15 minute walk from the CCM.

For more information, please visit the dedicated 'Getting there' page.

What is the weather like?

Beijing lies in the northern part of China, it's dry and windy. It could be hot in summer, but the temperature difference between day and night is quite big, so cool cotton garments are recommended. Late summer is often rainy, so you would be wise to bring some rainwear with you.
