ISME World Conference 2010: Commission Seminars
COMMISSION FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC EDUCATION (ECME)
14th Ecme Seminar, Beijing Normal University
Beijing, China 26 – 30 July 2010
We invite all practitioners and researchers interested in the musical lives of young children from birth to 8 years to attend this exciting event either as a presenter or as a participant.
Seminar bookings can be made by ISME Members after login to the members section.
The conference theme is: Nurturing Children's Musical Lives by Building Bridges Between
- Care-givers and children
- Pre-school and primary school music learning experiences
- Classroom music education and instrumental teaching
- Music learning in and out of schools, in formal and informal settings
- Children's musics and musics for children
The academic sessions of the seminar will include:
- Spoken Research Papers,
- Spoken "Best Practice" Papers,
- Posters, and
- Workshops and discussions.
The non-academic activities will include - in the best ECME tradition - song sharing, concerts, touring and many opportunities to get involved in fascinating talks with colleagues from all over the world.

From the airport to the seminar location, Beijing Normal University (BNU), you could choose:
- Taxi: from airport to the destination, about 90¥;
- Shuttle & Taxi: from airport to Bei Taipingzhuang , 16¥ is needed for shuttle, then from Bei Taipingzhuang to the destination, 10¥ is needed for taxi.

Before 1st May, booking fee is for early birds:
- 1500¥ for poster presenters, 2nd authors and observers
- 1000¥ for students and accompanying persons
After 1st May, booking fee is:
- 1600¥for poster presenters, 2nd authors and observers
- 1100¥ for students and accompanying persons
The deadline for seminar booking is 30th June.
Seminar fee includes
- 2 coffee breaks each day, lunch (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursady, Friday)
- Dinner (Monday, Tuesday)
